Stroke Rehab

Stroke rehabilitation is a program of different therapies designed to help you relearn skills lost after a stroke. Depending on the parts of your brain affected by the stroke, rehabilitation can help with movement, speech, strength, and daily living skills . Stroke rehabilitation aims to help you regain independence and improve your quality of life. Researchers have found that people who participate in focused stroke rehabilitation programs perform better than those who don't receive rehabilitation. Trust the process, it's a pathway to better mobility and overall well-being!

Here's what's often involved in stroke rehabilitation:

Motor-Skill Exercises:

    - These exercises improve muscle strength and coordination throughout your body.

    - They target muscles used for balance, walking, and even swallowing.

Mobility Training:

    - You'll learn to use mobility aids such as walkers, canes, wheelchairs, or ankle braces.

    - Ankle braces stabilize and strengthen your ankle, supporting your body weight as you relearn to walk.

Range-of-Motion Therapy:

    - Specific exercises and treatments ease muscle tension (spasticity) and help you regain range of motion.

Technology-Assisted Physical Activities:

    - Functional Electrical Stimulation: Electricity applied to weakened muscles helps reeducate them.
